Összefoglaló: 
A projekt célja kutatáson alapuló élelmiszerhulladék mérési módszerek fejlesztése, gyakorlati alkalmazása, valamint az Európai Tanács 2008/98/EK irányelvében meghatározott kötelezettségnek megfelelő tagállami adatszolgáltatás támogatása. A projekt az élelmiszerlánc három szintjére összpontosít: háztartások; kiskereskedelmi és egyéb élelmiszer-forgalmazás; éttermek és étkezés.
A projekt munkacsoportok formájában megvalósuló szakmai egyeztetéseken keresztül szólítja meg az ágazati szereplőket, a hazai élelmiszerhulladék mérési jó gyakorlatok kidolgozása érdekében. Az útmutatók a Bizottság 2019/1597/EU felhatalmazáson alapuló határozatából fognak kiindulni, amely közös módszertant és minimális minőségi követelményeket állapít meg az élelmiszerhulladékok szintjének egységes mérésére. A háztartások tekintetében hulladéknapló alapú módszertan kerül alkalmazásra, amely a Nébih korábbi vizsgálatai tapasztalataira épít. A háztartások számára videós mérési útmutató is készül. A két további szektor tekintetében a cél a megbízható adatokhoz szükséges mintaelemszám biztosítása, valamint az alkalmazott módszerek átláthatóvá tétele, amely érdekében az ágazati szereplők aktív bevonására fog sor kerülni.

Summary:
The project aims to give a massive contribution to the annual mandatory reporting exercise on food waste by member states, in accordance with the obligation set out in Directive 2008/98/EC.
The project focusses on three levels of the food supply chain: households; retail and other food distribution; restaurants and food services.
Based on the experiences of previous voluntary food waste reporting exercises, limitations of the currently applied methodology have been recognised. In the project we aim to identify further bottlenecks and needs.
The project will also allocate efforts on how to establish and coordinate a network between responsible national actors, as well as food business operators and other stakeholders. Working groups will be established in the retail and the food service sectors. The project will elaborate sectoral food waste measurement guidelines in collaboration with the working groups. The methodological recommendations will be based on the Commission Delegated Decision (EU) 1597/2019 setting up a common methodology and minimum quality requirements for the uniform measurement of the levels of Food waste. In terms of households, an advanced diary-based methodology will be applied, which will build on the experiences of the previous similar studies carried out by Nébih. A video-based guideline will be also set up for households. In addition, the project aims to organise workshops for the focus sectors to facilitate uptake of the developed food waste measurement guidelines. Regarding the distribution and food service sectors, the goal is to ensure the sample size necessary for gathering quality data, as well as to foster the definition of the applied methodologies. For this purpose, the sectoral stakeholders will be actively involved.
